The annual event is hosted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with their Washington County SAR Team. Various team members from Iron County SAR took part in various training opportunities during the 3-day event.
The pictures included below are from the Surface Water Rescue and Dive Training. Additionally, Brian Cotham took part in the High Angle Training with the Department of Public Safety’s Helicopter team. Brian and many others are on the Iron Count SAR Ropes Team. The ropes team is used when an person is located in a precarious location where we can’t access them safely or efficiently by foot. Combining the utilization of helicopters and equipment to repel and raise individuals from precarious areas helps us to improve our response time and get injured persons the medical care they need.
Many of the events included collaboration from various agencies, to include, the Utah Department of Public Safety, Utah Highway Patrol, Washington County Sheriff, as well as subject matter experts from other County SAR team’s who presented and/or provided various hands-on training. The weekend long training event was well orchestrated and the food was amazing! Thank you to the Washington County Sheriffs Office for hosting the event and our fellow Washington County SAR team for their support during the event! #UtahHighwayPatrol #UHP #UtahDepartmentOfPublicSafety #DPS #WashingtonCountySheriff #WashingtonCountySAR #SandHollow #AnnualSARTraining #IronCountySheriffSearchAndRescue #WeWillAlwaysComeToYou
