New Volunteer Information

Potential Volunteer,

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Iron County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team (ICSSAR). Below is some basic information regarding our volunteer program and application process.

The first step in our volunteer application process is completing an application. Completing an application does not guarantee acceptance into the volunteer program. At the interview, selected applicants will need to complete a background check form with the understanding that acceptance is contingent upon a report and submit to a drug screening test.

Volunteers are also required to attend a three-hour orientation training that meets the state requirements prior to being authorized to respond to Search and Rescue callouts.

If you feel you will be able to meet the above requirements, we encourage you to return your application as soon as possible. The application and training process may take several weeks. Please return your completed application to Ironsheriffsar@gmail.com or you can attend our meeting, details below and bring it at that time.

You are also invited and encouraged to attend our volunteer team meetings that occur the first and third Monday of every month at 1900 hrs (7pm).  Our ICSSAR building is located at 1542 Kitty Hawk Drive, Cedar City Utah.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you!
