We are excited to introduce you to Kriston Lindsay.
Kris was born and raised in Beaver UT until his senior year of high school when his family moved to Panguitch UT. In 1974 he married LaRayne LeFever and they settled in Cedar City and raised 4 children. Kris is an avid hunter and fisherman and spent his whole life hunting and working in the Beaver, Iron and Garfield County mountains. Kris’s company K Lindsay Construction has built many homes and business in this area and built many cabins up on the mountains. Kris became a member of the Iron County Search and Rescue in 1979. He was involved in hundreds of searches over the 43 years. Back then members were required to have their own conveyance, and equipment, very few searches were cancelled, many of the searches lasted for several days. Kris has held many offices in SAR 1984-1985 held the office of Captain 1985 – 1986 was Commander twice. Throughout the years held other positions, Training officer, Sargent etc. He’s been on the High angle and snow mobile teams. Has spent many hours going to different training seminars. In 1986 became a board member of the State Search and Rescue Association in 1988 was 2nd Vice Commander 1989 1st Vice Commander 1990 -1991 Commander. As Commander he worked with State Representative Bud Bowman to Sponsor a Bill that passed for the reimbursement fund for all Search and Rescue Units in the State. As the National Search and Rescue board member he also held the offices of 2nd Vice twice 1st Vice and Commander. Holding these different positions had given Kris the opportunity to travel around the state getting to know the members in all the units and has made lifelong friends. His love and dedication for the Search and Rescue still carries on to this day.
