On January 31, 2025, at 00:13, Deputies responded to a vehicle off the road on Summit Mountain. Due to winter road conditions, The Iron County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Snow Team were called out to assist at approximately 01:00 hrs. The ICSSAR Snow Team was able to reach the location to find 3 stranded motorists in 2 vehicles. The road had a layer of snow and ice which caused the vehicles to lose traction and prevent them from going any further. Due to the location and situation, the vehicles were left on the scene and three adult males were given rides back to their residence in Cedar City. The call was closed at 04:00 hrs. and all personnel cleared the scene without incident.
