March 6, 2023

The ICSSAR Monday night team meeting opened with a formal show of appreciation for D&P Performance for their continued service to ICSSAR.  They were presented with a plaque of appreciation.  We also purchased an additional smaller plaque to display in our ATV’s during community outreach events.  Dean was accompanied by his daughter, Lacie.  Dean started helping the Iron County Search and Rescue in 1979.  He went out on all the winter calls from 1979 into the early 90s. Dean has volunteered countless hours to help our Search and Rescue team.  He’s assisted with snow rescues, as well as avalanche and snowmobile technical training.  He has shared his knowledge of the mountains on a case-by-case basis. In January 2023, Dean held a UTV track training with several members of the Search and Rescue Team. He taught them the proper gear and safety equipment, as well as reviewing general operations on how to use a tracked UTV.  D&P Performance donated 2 new snowmobiles and a trailer in the early 90s and donated half of three snowmobiles purchased in 2018. They’ve provided us with courtesy services and big discounts to keep us running safely and prepared.

During the recognition ceremony, both Dean and Lacie expressed their appreciation for the  relationship they have with Iron County Search and Rescue and emphasized their willingness to ALWAYS be there to help out whenever and with whatever we need.

We share the same sentiments as Dean and Lacie as being thankful for our relationship.  Their support to the ICSSAR in-turn is supporting the entire community at large and our visitors to this great County.  Please join us in showing our sincere appreciation for them.
