December 12, 2022

Members of our Iron County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue (ICSSAR) Team and their loved ones came together for the annual SAR Christmas Party.  Additionally, Sheriff Carpenter and a few other Iron County Sheriffs Lt’s and Deputies were able to join us.  It’s a night of recognition, thanks and lightheartedness for the team.  Commander Bert Mitchell recognized various team members for their contributions.  He also recognized our Iron Sheriff Liaison, Cpl Michael Hilleger for always going above and beyond to ensure the safety and welfare of the volunteers.  Commander Mitchell reflected on the contribution of the team.  During 2022, there was a total of 6,490 total volunteer hours.  909 hours were dedicated to searches and rescues and 3,736 was dedicated to ongoing training.  Sheriff Carpenter also recognized the team’s dedication and willingness to leave the warmth and comforts of their home to help others.    The team also returned our thanks to Commander Mitchell for the work he does day after day to support our team and our mission.  Commander Mitchell is a compassionate and humble leader that we are deeply grateful to have.

We also want to extend our gratitude to Heather Hill Farm and Gardens in Enoch Utah (https://www.heatherhillfarmandgardens.com/ ) for allowing us to use their beautiful facility for our event.
