At 3pm Sunday, August 21, 2022, the Iron County Search and Rescue Team was notified of an ATV accident with a report of two adults injured. The accident occurred in the upper canyon of E Second Left Hand Rd in Parowan. There were multiple agencies on scene with the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, to include but not limited to, 15 members of Iron County SAR, Iron County Sheriff Liaison, 3 Gold Cross Ambulance Paramedics, multiple deputies from the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, Marshalls Office, Utah Highway Patrol, Interagency Wildland Fire, and the Parowan Fire Department. We utilized 3 SAR trucks, 1 6-wheeler and 1 Ranger side X side. We also utilized one Utah Highway Patrol Helicopter for the immediate extraction of the patients from the trail, as well as Classic Air Medical Helicopter to transport one of the patients to the hospital. Our volunteers stayed on-scene until the patients were transported and en route to the hospital. The mission was completed at 7 p.m.
