Iron County Sheriff Search and Rescue Bike Team has members of Search and Rescue who enjoy the outdoors on two wheels. These members train diligently by riding popular trails often. This allows them to locate victims who may have crashed in these areas quickly.
Members of the bike team are uniquely knowledgeable about areas of the county the rest of us may not be. Members of the team are also able to get to areas on their bikes that we may not be able to access with a machine on four wheels. They take the time to ride the trails and learn the terrain so they can help find people, and direct others on how to get to people the easiest way. It is not uncommon to have a call out for an injured biker. This team is able to assist in a large way on those calls.
The specialty teams of Search and Rescue consist of members of Search and Rescue who want to specialize in a specific area of Search and Rescue. They still attend regular meetings, and help out with the other areas of Search and Rescue. The team is the first to be called if their specialty team is needed. They volunteer their time and energy in ways that go above and beyond and we thank them for their service to their community. To donate to the team, please visit Support the Team.
