4 individuals stranded due to their side-by- side being broken down

At 12:42 A.M. on Sunday January 8, 2023, Iron County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue (ICSSAR) Volunteers received a call-out request specifically for the Snow Team to respond to 4 stranded individuals in the Yankee Meadow Reservoir. The exact location was unknown. The side by side they were occupying had broken down. 7 ICSSAR snowmobile team specialist volunteers responded, along with an Iron County Sheriff’s Deputy. The team used three snowmobiles and the side by side with tracks. They brought back the 4 stranded individuals. The personal side by side was not recovered. Please be aware our team’s priority is to rescue people, not vehicles. They will always ensure the safety of the person or persons by transporting them out of the area. The individuals are responsible for coordinating retrieval of the vehicle. The team returned to the ICSSAR building at 3:45 A.M.
